SymSCHEDULE

SymSCHEDULE makes it easy for Health Care Systems to manage a centralized web-based scheduling process without the high cost of an enterprise scheduling software system.  This module offers a number of different ways to quickly create schedules for multiple departments.  Scheduled shifts appear in internal health care professionals’ calendars and vacancy needs are published to internal workforce members as well as outside agencies to request shifts.  The module supports Contract Assignments and Per Diem shifts.  It can be used for both internal and external workforce populations.  The scheduling integrates with Symmetry’s Reconciliation and Billing Modules for complete shift lifecycle management.

Symmetry tailors and customizes each client experience and therefore the application is, by design, able to accommodate the specific interests, rules and organizational culture. The application was designed to allow technical administration to the application, feature upgrades and new functionality to be released while maintaining individually customized client elements. For this reason, Symmetry does not have any version control issues as each client is always on the latest version inclusive of their customized business rules, templates and parameters.

The solution is built on a Custom Portal Framework which allows for configuration to specific client requirements and desired user experiences. Symmetry uses templates for many of the reports and allows for custom Daily Schedules, Master Schedules and other reports. Custom sorting, paging and filtering are available on all data views.

Templates can be used to define vacancy shift settings in SymSCHEDULE when shifts are published for request and to manage Pay Multipliers, Overtime settings, Hourly Bonuses, Break Times, rounding parameters and Wage Codes. Templates and business rules can be easily copied to specific units, facilities and workforce members.

User customizations can easily be plugged into the Custom Portal Framework when feature requests go beyond the customary configurations.

Unit templates are easily configured with specific shift times and par value requirements.  The template can consist of scheduled shifts of internal nurses or agency/nurses and open vacancies are copied to other dates for very fast schedule creation.
Unit managers can also Schedule by Professional or allow healthcare professionals to self-schedule and create personal schedules across any date range in a few simple clicks.

A configuration can be set for all SymSCHEDULE shifts to set default shift properties such as break time, bonuses, open to agencies, and phase 1 and phase 2 settings.
A Publishing feature enables a schedule to be created and adjusted before it is published for all to see (scheduled shifts for internal nurses and open vacancies for agencies to request).

The Master Schedule Shows a summary view of all position types for any date range and provides a summary total number of professionals per shift and per position type.

The Daily Unit Schedule is configurable and shows all open vacancies and awarded shifts (internal and external) for a selected date range.  The Daily Unit Schedule may also have Agency shifts identified separately. This is a Schedule that is expected to be customized per facility.
